Philips in special edition National Geographic

In April, National Geographic will focus on 'the attractiveness of the city'; what about the future of the city if cities have to accommodate 6.7 billion people by the middle of this century? ‘From Eindhoven to Tokyo: how do we keep growing metropoles livable?’ the magazine wonders on the cover. In the sixteen page long article about Eindhoven, Philips is also mentioned.

With 8,500 employees within the Philips Innovation Center Eindhoven, this is still the largest production location and innovation hub of Philips worldwide. The transformation of the company towards a health technology company is also discussed in the story, along with the number of patent applications from this region, in which Philips is still the leader. The technology side of the city therefore occupies a prominent place in the article, which is also evident from the accompanying photos that show, among other things, how Philips makes the inside of the 'tube' (body coil) of an MRI scanner.

This special edition of National Geographic will be available throughout April.
