During GLOW this year performing arts, light and technology come together in the form of a true “Light Parade” starting at the Philips Museum. Every evening from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. you can enjoy a unique combination of art, dance, light and music that moves through the streets of Eindhoven like a flash mob.
As Gerard Philips said, “Light is life, light is joy, light is celebration.”
Marcello Arosio is an architect and multimedia artist who gained his years of experience mainly in New York, Barcelona and Milan. His search for the boundaries between architecture, art and technology, his strong interest in the redevelopment of urban spaces with citizen involvement, and research into the expressive languages of image, light and sound lead him to create and lead AreaOdeon, Kernel Festival and Onda Studio, among others.
Discover and learn more about the versatility of artificial light and its origins at the Philips Museum! Trials of the latest educational program “Light!” can be experienced at the museum during GLOW. Get active yourself to investigate and experience what is possible with electric light. Also discover how this invention had, and has, a lasting influence on our culture and environment.
During GLOW, museum volunteers will also be on hand to tell the story of Philips' first light bulb, in the play The Lamp. With the Old Factory as a backdrop, you will be taken back to 1891 by the Lamp Maker, Gerard and Anton Philips. Buy your ticket for the Philips Museum here.
With GLOW and the special dance project “The Light Parade” Philips shows its commitment in the region and stimulates people to get moving together literally and figuratively. Philips supports light festival GLOW 2024 that takes place from November 9 to 16.
