New: 2x lecture during GLOW 2023

The Philips Museum organizes two in-depth lectures during light art festival GLOW that takes place from November 11 to 18, 2023. Bert Tip will talk about Philips' industrial footprint in the Netherlands and Sergio Derks will elaborate on the life of founder Gerard Philips.

The arrival of Philips had a huge impact on Eindhoven. The city grew rapidly, and many new jobs were created. Philips built homes, schools, and even an outpatient clinic and a sports park for its employees. The city gained its own identity, characterized by light and innovation. There is therefore an inseparable link between Philips and Light City Eindhoven. With all reasons, it is therefore very logical to say that the annual light art festival GLOW takes place in the center of Eindhoven.

Artwork Titia Ex - GLOW

The light artwork on the chimney of the museum Private Light by Titia Ex is also part of the GLOW route this year.

This year the inspiration of GLOW is "The Beat. A starting point for a triptych in light art, culminating in 2024 in The Stream and in 2025 - the 20th anniversary of GLOW - in The Lights. The three themes combine to form The Lights, which pulsates, makes light flow and ultimately connects everyone everywhere.
