The crazy professors of Mad Science are taking over the Philips Museum on November 23 & 24! You'll fall from one surprise to another during this spectacular weekend of experiments, demonstrations and workshops.
Come to the amazing Glow show, discover magical magnets and learn how to program! Of course, you can also visit the rest of the museum and learn how Philips evolved from light bulb manufacturer to a global corporation.
Ozobots
These little friendly robots follow every line you draw. You give them special commands with color codes. So children can program Ozobots by drawing lines and giving them codes. This way children can draw whole stories, do competitions with different Ozobots, as well as solve puzzles.
Dash & Dot
Dash & Dot are two clever robots that you can program yourself. They hear sounds, react to light, notice objects and do exactly what you want. The possibilities are endless. You can make the robots dance to the rhythm of music, make weird sounds, maneuver through a maze and much more.
Magic Magnets
We all have a magnet attached to our refrigerator. But how does this work? What happens when you hold two magnets near each other? Around a magnet is an invisible magnetic field that can attract materials near it. Iron filings are used to make this magnetic field visible. It's physics, but it looks like magic...magnetic magic.
Glow Show
We know what our environment looks like in white light, such as sunlight. But does everything around us also look the same when we shine colored light on it? How does glow-in-the-dark work and how can you catch your own shadow? During this workshop, a substance called luminol and other chemicals are used to make a chemical flashlight. You can't take this one home. By the end of the experiment, you'll understand why!
Will we see you on 23 & 24 november?
