Philips Museum

On April 5, the Philips Museum will celebrate its 10th anniversary and open its doors to the public for free. On this day - which falls in the middle of National Museum Week - the new and in-depth exhibition on founder Gerard Philips will be on display. A unique opportunity to learn more about Dr. Ir. Gerard Philips. Olga Coolen, director Philips Museum: "The region is full of development and the interest in the stories about the past and present of Philips has a clear relationship with the interest in the city of Eindhoven and the Brainport region."

Exactly ten years ago, former queen, Princess Beatrix, opened the Philips Museum in the monumental building on the Emmasingel in Eindhoven. In recent years, the Philips Museum has grown into a full-fledged and modern visitor attraction that takes both young and old into the story of the company.

Highlights 10 years Philips Museum
Over the years, the programming has evolved considerably for a broad audience, ranging from seniors and expats to international tourists and families with children. In its heyday, nearly 100,000 visitors knew where to find the museum. It soon became clear that there was a demand for such a museum and that people were surprised by the many dimensions of Philips and the many different activities offered.

Highlights are the exhibition "Vinyl!" about the record industry, the exhibition about 90 years of Philips Design, the exhibition about Jan Zwartendijk "Visas to Freedom" and certainly also the still very popular the interactive family tour Mission Eureka around the theme of innovation. The current exhibition on Philips' graphic art 'Eyecatchers' is also certainly a special and eye-catching collection for the Philips Museum.
