The Philips Museum has put together an extensive programme for this summer holiday, full of interactive and educational activities for the whole family. From AI exhibitions to creative workshops and exciting treasure hunts, there is something for everyone.
Visitors can discover the impact of artificial intelligence on our daily lives in the new exhibition brAInpower. This exhibition shows how Philips is contributing to technological innovations in healthcare and other sectors. The exhibition is designed to introduce the world of AI in an accessible and interactive way.
The Museum Kids Factory returns with creative workshops for children aged 6 to 12. With guidance, young participants can build their own electronic circuits and create moving objects such as vehicles with flashing lights. For children aged 4 and 5, there will be a modified programme of craft and drawing activities. The workshops will take place from 6 to 12 July, 20 to 26 July and 10 to 16 August. Registration can be done through the museum's website.
The historical play The Lamp tells the story of the Little Lamp Maker and brothers Gerard and Anton Philips. The play gives an insight into life and work at Philips & Co in 1891 and explains in a simple way the process of making the first light bulbs. The play can be seen from 13 to 19 July, 27 July to 1 August and 24 to 30 August. Performances are at 12:00, 13:00, 14:00 and 15:00, and reservations are not required.
For those who want to learn more about Philips' role in engineering history, the museum offers mini-lectures. These are given by experienced Philips experts and are suitable for adults and children aged 15 and over. The lectures take place from 3 to 8 August and from 17 to 23 August, at 12:00 and 14:30. Reservations are not required.
In addition, families can participate in the tablet game Mission Eureka and the youngest visitors can search for hidden symbols in the museum with the Torchlight Treasure Hunt.
